The Grand Canyon of the East

Little River Canyon National Preserve in northeast Alabama is carved by one of the longest mountaintop rivers in the United States — the Little River flows almost entirely atop Lookout Mountain. Its 600-foot-deep canyon is sometimes called the 'Grand Canyon of the East.'
