The Father of Modern Archery

Arkansas native, Ben Pearson, is considered to be the father of modern archery in the United States. Born in 1898 in the hill country west of Little Rock, Arkansas, Pearson was the first person in the US to mass produce archery sets and equipment. At his factory in Pine Bluff, he designed and built most of the machines used to produce this equipment himself. Pearson is believed to have brought archery to the masses in the middle part of the last century.
