47 Hot Springs at 143 Degrees
47 hot springs flow from the southwestern slope of Hot Springs Mountain in Arkansas with an average temperature of 143 degrees. The spring waters have been visited by indigenous peoples for over 8,000 years and is known to possess medicinal properties. There was even an agreement between neighboring tribes that they would put aside their weapons and partake of the healing waters in peace while in the valley. Today, these springs are contained within Hot Springs National Park, the oldest park in the National Park system.
