A Fort Made of 16 Million Bricks
Dry Tortugas National Park sits 70 miles west of Key West and can only be reached by boat or seaplane. Its centerpiece, Fort Jefferson, is the largest all-masonry fort in the Americas — built with more than 16 million bricks — and about 99% of the park is open water.
