The Real Field of Dreams

The Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville, Iowa, where Kevin Costner's 1989 film was shot, has become one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Midwest. The original diamond carved out of Don Lansing's cornfield still stands, and the farm receives over 100,000 visitors per year, most arriving without any organized event or fanfare. In 2021, Major League Baseball hosted a regular season game between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees on a temporary stadium built adjacent to the original field, bringing the movie's premise full circle.
