The Home of Dunkin'
The town of Dunstable, Massachusetts is the birthplace of Dunkin', which opened its first location in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1950. Today Massachusetts has more Dunkin' locations per capita than any state or country on earth, with roughly one store for every 7,000 residents. The chain is so woven into the culture of New England that Boston Cream Pie, a Massachusetts invention, was long cited as inspiration for the glazed donut that became Dunkin's signature product. In 2019 the company officially dropped Donuts from its name.
