The Town That Chocolate Built

Hershey, Pennsylvania, home of the Hershey Company, produces over 70 million Hershey's Kisses every single day. The town was built by Milton Hershey specifically to house his chocolate factory workers in comfortable, affordable homes, and includes schools, parks, a hotel, and an amusement park. Hershey's decision to give up rights to his earlier company in order to focus on milk chocolate for the mass market, and his subsequent choice to build a company town rather than enrich himself, made him one of the most unusual and beloved figures in American business history.
