The Mothman of Point Pleasant

The Mothman, a winged humanoid creature reported by dozens of residents of Point Pleasant, West Virginia between November 1966 and December 1967, became one of the most famous paranormal incidents in American history. Over 100 people reported seeing a large, gray winged figure with red eyes in the area around the TNT Area, a former World War II munitions dump. The sightings ended abruptly when the Silver Bridge over the Ohio River collapsed on December 15, 1967, killing 46 people. The Mothman is now celebrated in Point Pleasant with a statue, a museum, and an annual festival.
