Sea Caves You Can Walk Into — When the Lake Freezes

Wisconsin's Apostle Islands National Lakeshore protects 21 islands on Lake Superior. In rare, cold-enough winters, the mainland sea caves freeze over into a maze of ice chambers visitors can hike into — a spectacle that only happens a handful of years each decade.
